Should I bring Doctor/medical report?

Yes. Kindly bring any medical report, which may include the particular types of suggested rehabilitation/physiotherapy recommendations.

This will not be necessary if you come simply for preventive care or for a consultation.

Question 2

What should I wear and bring with me?

Accepted Answer

Bring or wear comfortable clothes, such as, t-shirt, sports bra, shorts or leggings. Depending on the area of treatment you may need to expose various limbs which might require you to undress. This is to allow us to have a better look at the areas of concern, assess ROM and muscle tension and to better understand compensation patterns in your body. Your comfort is of utmost importance.

What should I expect on my first visit?

The initial assessment usually includes a detailed health history and manual testing to help with the evaluation of the physical condition of your body. This will be followed by treatment which in TruPhysio is a combination of manual techniques, therapeutic exercise, and in individual cases shock wave therapy, high intensity laser or other modalities.

We strongly believe that a good assessment is the key to a good treatment, so do be prepared for a thorough investigation. Physiotherapy sessions are usually an hour long and at the end of each we will advise you how to help manage your problem and provide you with a few exercises to continue with at home, enabling you to become an active participant in your recovery and future physical health.

Question 4

When should I expect to feel better?

Common practice would be 3-6 treatment sessions, but treatment plans vary for each individual and progress depends on a variety of factors. In general, the sooner you seek physiotherapy care the faster you will start to heal.

Some problems can be resolved quickly, if you don’t wait too long for treatment. The longer you have been suffering with a problem, such as,  for many months or even years, improvement can take more time. A significant proportion of the pain relief and restoration is under your control so if you stick to the treatment plan and follow our advice and lifestyle plans, you will get positive results.
